Known for her kindness, generosity, and devotion to her Catholic faith, Kate Marionneaux Anderson died peacefully at home on September 16, 2021 surrounded by her family. Kate overcame multiple adversities in life by relying on her deep and unwavering faith in God. Even as she faced multiple cancer diagnoses over the past thirteen years, she freely gave of herself to others and blessed so many who were facing their own cancer diagnosis with the gift of peace and calm. Kate always lifted others up in prayer and showed us how to be at peace with the Lord and trust in His plan. Her life was dedicated to her family. She shined as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and friend to many. Kate had a true servant’s heart living her life with dignity, grace, humility, and kindness. She selflessly shared her time volunteering, ministering, and counseling others in need. Kate loved cooking and baking with her daughter, Cecilia. She was wickedly smart with a strong sense of right and wrong. She had a great sense of fashion and a love of Dolly Parton. She was also an avid reader, especially literature regarding the Catholic faith and spirituality. Kate was a native of Baton Rouge where she attended Tara High School and later, Centenary College. She graduated from LSU Law School in 2003, working at Phelps Dunbar LLP before retiring to pursue her life’s true passion, motherhood. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Kate is survived by her husband, Dr. Kevin J. Anderson; daughter, Cecilia Elizabeth Anderson; parents, Jack Marionneaux and Nancy Foust Marionneaux; sisters, Aimee Rotenberg (Steve), Caroline Davis, SaraRose Marionneaux, her beloved nieces and nephews; and her two precious dogs, Dolly and Biscuit. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, Downtown on Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 11:00 am with a visitation taking place at church starting at 9:00 am. Inurnment will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church’s Garden of Peace Memorial Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic High School in Kate’s memory to the Kate and Dr. Kevin J. Anderson ‘91 Scholarship, P.O. It was such a joy to see Kate and Kevin just a few months ago at our 30 year Catholic High Reunion. Their marriage was a testament to God's love and an example for us all. Kevin, you have much love and support here and I join you in celebrating Kate's life today, tomorrow and the next.

Godspeed, In Hoc,

My beautiful friend from law school. Open, honest, smart, well-spoken, encouraging. Kate lifted me up as we ran into each other in the halls of the Law Center, and then, later on in life, as we ran into each other in the aisles of Target. Such a precious spirit and heartbreaking loss. Prayers for the entire family. With kind remembrance and deep sympathy, Rose
