"Katherine Anne Coleman Kabel passed from our world on September 26, 2018, nine days after her 80th birthday. She was born in Varnado, Louisiana and relocated several times throughout her life, but was a Baton Rouge resident since the early 1970s. Katherine is preceded in death by her father Lorraine, her mother Doris, and her sister Elizabeth. After proudly graduating from Louisiana State University in 2003, Katherine pursued graduate studies and toured Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean in her later years. Katherine died peacefully in her home from natural causes, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Michael Henry Kabel, and her beloved sons Michael Scott Kabel and Stephen Gregory Kabel. In keeping with her wishes, there will be a private memorial service for immediate family only.
