

Died peacefully at her residence in Baton Rouge, LA on March 4, 2013. She was a homemaker and an artist. Born in Baton Rouge, LA on May 11, 1911, she was a graduate of BRHS and LSU where she was the librarian for the geology department before marrying the love of her life John Webb McGehee, Jr., M.D.. She was a former member of The East Baton Rouge Parish Medical Society, The Junior League, The Harness Club, The Decorator's Club and Old Hickory. She will always be remembered for her wonderful smile and her favorite expression, "life is good". She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John Webb McGehee, Jr., M.D., a daughter, Ann Elizabeth McGehee Phillips, father, Robert J. Lowe, mother, Josie Larguier Flake, step-father, Clifton F. Flake, Sr., brother, Clifton F. Flake, Jr., and a sister, Ann Flake Leath. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Louise McGehee Crochet and spouse, Richard Patrick, son-in-law, Robert David Phillips, Sr. and spouse Elizabeth, four grandchildren, Robert David Phillips, Jr., and spouse, Dawn, Trishanna Louise Thomas Brumfield and spouse, Jefferson, Tara Webb Thomas Allen and spouse, Charles, Tanya Elizabeth Thomas Metz, and spouse, Kevin, six great-grandchildren, Robert David Phillips, III, Webb McGehee Phillips, Christopher Paul Bradford Phillips, Sawyer Elizabeth Metz, Hudson Isaac Metz, Murphey McGehee Allen, and six nieces. Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park, Thursday, March 7th, at 10:30 am with Rev. David Allen officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Hospice.
