Katherine Hawkins Roberts

Katherine Hawkins Roberts was born in Minden, LA and died on January 9, 2024 in River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS at the age of 95. She is survived by her son, George W. Roberts and his wife Donna of Brandon, MS; niece, Pamela McLeod and husband William of Colorado Springs, CO; and a great-nephew Zachary Thomas (Hawkins) Wormsbacher of Mesa, AZ. She is preceded in death by her husband, Homer C. Roberts; granddaughter, Stephanie K. Roberts; mother, Alma Dora Thomas Hawkins; father and step-mother, Robert Carl and Delia Beck Hawkins; brothers, C. Thomas Hawkins and wife Ruby, and Leon Hawkins; and nephew, Michael Hawkins.

Katherine graduated with honors from Minden High School and Northwestern State University. She holds a Master’s degree in Education and a Master's +30 from Louisiana State University. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and the Order of Eastern Star. Katherine retired from the East Baton Rouge School System having touched the lives of many cherished students during her many years as an educator.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2024 at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, from 1 pm until funeral services at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Please visit www.greenoaksfunerals.com to leave condolences to the family.
