Kathy Jo Hoskins Reeves

"Kathy passed away on Friday, June 09, 2017, at 66 from cancer. She was born in Baton Rouge and was a resident of Denham Springs. Kathy graduated from Denham Springs High School and Northwestern State University. She is survived by her loving husband, L. Z. ''Sonny" Reeves Jr. and is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Thomas Hoskins and Kathleen Lehr Webb Hoskins and maternal grandparents, Benny F. Webb Sr. and Charlotte Lehr Webb. Kathy was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Denham Spring and volunteered with their Nursing Home Ministry. She was on the board and volunteered at the Arts Council of Livingston Parish. Kathy was a member of the Louisiana Photographic Society and served as their Exhibit Coordinator for many years. Because of her love of animals she volunteered at the Denham Springs Animal Shelter and their support organization Pet Aid. She also was a volunteer in the Master Gardener program. Kathy is best known for her wildlife photography where she won local, regional and international awards. Her passion was traveling the world to photograph her beloved wildlife and was a strong nature conservationist. Her photography can be viewed at www.kathyreeves.com. Family and friends are invited to the services at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 with visitation from 9:00 am until religious services at 11:00am conducted by Rev. Mark Martin. Burial will follow in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery with a reception at the First United Methodist Church of Denham Springs activity center after graveside services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any of the organizations listed above.
