Fellin passed away Monday, Aug. 23, in Baton Rouge. A native of Stockton, Calif., and resident of Baton Rouge, Ken was a jewelry designer and business owner for 45 years in Baton Rouge. He was 71 and an Air Force veteran. He was a man with a variety of interests: sports, travel, gourmet cooking, music, art, literature, hunting, fishing and golf. He is survived by his wife, Elaine B. Fellin; daughter, Elisa Fellin Lehr and son-in-law Andrew, of Baton Rouge; brother, Dennis Fellin and wife Julia, of Stockton; sister, Gayle Lewis and husband John, of Carson City, Nev.; nephews, Greg Fellin and Jeff and Chris Schwoerer and their families; and his beloved aunt, Mary Manalia. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Bernice K. Fellin. Ken loved people and gave generously of his time and talent, using his unfailing optimism about life to encourage those who sought his counsel. He dearly loved Louisiana people and culture. Ken was a member of the Louisiana Jewelers Association, the Round Table Club, the Les Bon Vie Club and a longtime member of Rotary International. Pallbearers will be Frank Gumpert, Mike Thompson, Jeff Schwoerer, David Baril, Shavarsh Kaltakjian and Bart Dornier. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Aug. 25, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home chapel Thursday from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Miles D. Walsh. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
