Larry "Cowboy" Claxton

Larry "Cowboy" Claxton, age 72, passed away on January 22, 2023. Larry graduated from Baton Rouge High School, and worked as a Master Finish Carpenter. He was also a Brew Master for Abita Beer. Larry was a member of Boy Scouts of America, earning his Eagle Scout at age 17, the youngest to achieve the goal at that time. He enjoyed playing pool, and enjoyed the southern Louisiana lifestyle. "Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler." Larry is survived by his daughter, Emily Claxton; son, Clayton Claxton, and his wife Meghan. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Hardy and Jimmie Claxton; and his wife of 29 years, Christina Claxton. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humane Society of Baton Rouge. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Bob, Lou and Joe for their friendships and care taking over the past 15 years. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 9:00am-10:00am with a funeral service to begin at 10:00am at Greenoaks Funeral Home.
