

"Larry E. Slocum passed away Monday, January 15, 2018, at the age 82, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Denham Springs. He served in the US Army, and after his service he went to work for Foster Grant as an Operator, and he retired in 1992. He is survived by his children and their spouses; Greg Slocum, Lisa Graham (Cliff), Kahne Wolverton (Daren), Wesley Slocum and Amy Evans (Harald); grandchildren, Amanda Slocum, Rachael Slocum, Ali Slocum, Jamie Holloway (Caleb), Zachary Graham, Taylor Wolverton (Danielle), Madison Wolverton, Madelynne Slocum, Paul Cody, Anne Cody and Mark Cody; 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Slocum; parents, Wilford and Vera Slocum; and a brother,Donald Slocum. Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., starting at 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Visitation will resume Friday, January 19, 2018, starting at 10:00am until services in funeral home chapel at 12:30pm conducted by Brother Leo Miller, with interment to follow at the Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, La., at 2:30pm. He was a member of First Baptist of Denham Springs. He was an avid fisherman who spent many enjoyable moments at Toledo Bend. Also he liked to play golf.
