
"A native and current resident of Baton Rouge, LA, Larry Jean Wilson passed away at home on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the age of 73. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am celebrated by Rev. Tom Duhé. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. She is survived by her five siblings and their spouses, John S., Jr. and Elizabeth Wilson, David and Mary Wilson, Lila W. and Larry Graham, Linda W. and Bill Verbois and Leslie W. and Richard Poché; her uncle, Dr. Hypolite Landry, Jr; and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by her parents, John S. Wilson, Sr. and L. Jean Wilson. Pallbearers will be Larry Graham, Richard Poché, James D. Wilson, Jr, Shawn Brown, and Patrick Brown. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Kent. Larry was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Baton Rouge, and moved to Houston in 1969 not long after graduating from LSU with a degree in Business Administration entering the business world as a contract administrator working for the vice president of Tenneco Oil Company. After close to 10 years with Tenneco she was presented an opportunity with J.M. Huber Corporation working in the legal department as the contract and regulatory administrator. Larry worked for Huber for close to 20 years retiring in 1998 as the supervisor of contract and regulatory affairs. Following her retirement she was a consultant to several natural gas pipeline companies. While in her career she was a member of the Natural Gas Association of Houston and enjoyed the fine arts in Houston. She was a subscriber to season tickets to the Houston Ballet and enjoyed other performing arts. As her health began showing signs of deteriorating she chose to move back to Baton Rouge to be near her sisters, brother and uncle. Larry left a wonderful legacy in Houston and her friends and associates in the energy business will greatly miss her. The Wilson family wish to thank Total Live-in Care and Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice for the care and support shown during her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to either St. Joseph Hospice or to Carpenter House in Larry's name.
