
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. A retired accountant and a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, she died peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at the age of 94. Alicewas born on Sept. 29, 1912. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church and was a 1929 graduate of St. Joseph's Academy. She is survived by her daughter and son-law, Judy Prejean Jarreau and Cecil "Sonny" Jarreau Jr. of Denham Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerard Jr. and Edith Edwards Prejean of Richardson, Texas, and Richard and Donna Adams Prejean of Columbia, Miss.; son-in-law, Robert Finley Hoffine of Houston; nine grandchildren, Keith Jarreau of Plano, Texas, Sandra Jarreau Athey of Denham Springs, Allen Prejean of Arlington, Texas, Suzanne Prejean Gibson of Richardson, Matthew Hoffine of Little Rock, Ark., Allyson Hoffine Wilson of Denham Springs, Danielle Prejean Guillot of Mandeville, Angelle Prejean of Baton Rouge, and Montana Prejean of Columbia; and great-grandchildren, Dustin and Skyler Jarreau, Kristian, Dawn and Laura Athey, Katelyn, Sarah and Daniel Prejean, Zachary and Benjamin Gibson, and Joshua Wilson; a great-great-grandchild, Alivia Marks; sister, Gladys Becker Naquin of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Gerard A. Prejean Sr.; parents, Marie Rivas and Alphonse Becker Sr.; daughter, Adele Prejean Hoffine; sister, Mary Jo Becker Poirier; and brother, Alphonse Becker Jr. The family will receive friends for visitation at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 9:30 a.m.until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.Interment will follow atRoselawnMemorial Park. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
