
Peggy Watkins died Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Peggy was born in Hopewell, Va., on July 7, 1930. She was 19 when she married Guy H. Watkins III, her husband of 35 years. His work with Dow Chemical took them abroad to Europe where she reared her children, Gay Lynn Watkins Hutchinson and Guy H. Watkins IV. After returning to the United States, she eventually settled in Baton Rouge after the death of her husband in 1984. She was active with the Pink Ladies at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church as well as Baton Rouge Country Club where she enjoyed her bridge club. She is survived by and will be missed by her children and their spouses, Gay Lynn and Wayne Hutchinson, and Guy and Sharon Watkins; grandchildren, Nigel Kibodeaux, Mairi Kibodeaux Cox, Erin Watkins Pulley and Guy H. Watkins V; and great-grandchildren, May Kibodeaux, Betty Kibodeaux and Clara Cox. Visitation at First United Methodist Church parish hall on Saturday, May 14, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Memorial service in the church chapel at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews.
