Betty Nash entered this life on May 22, 1929. Leda Bowden left this life on January 3, 2022. She was 92. She leaves behind her husband of 72+ years, Alan Darrell Bowden, daughters Karen Farris Fowler (Bill) and Rebekah Lemoine Odenwald, special cousin Patsy Perritt (Ron), grandsons Bryan and Alan Farris, and granddaughters English Lemoine and Cheria’ LeBlanc (Mark). Preceded in death by her father “Doc” Lyles Nash, mother Willie Nash, and brother Gilbert Nash. She graduated from Istrouma High School and attended Louisiana College, LSU, and Mississippi State College for Women (MSCW). Her career highlights include Administrative Assistant at Community Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCRC) and the Louisiana Foundation for Private Colleges and Universities. In her retirement years, she enjoyed cruising, from Alaska to the Bahamas, and traveling with family and friends visiting most of the lower 48 states. She was a long-time member of Istrouma Baptist Church, Florida Blvd. Baptist Church, and University Baptist Church. Special thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge and their staff and also to Lauren Lawrence and Wendy Thompson for care given. Visitation will be held on at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Rabenhorst East, 11000 Florida Blvd., with services conducted by Dr. Dennis Johnsey to follow at 2 p.m. Interment at Resthaven Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
