

Dias, Lena L. RoppoloLena Roppolo Dias passed away peacefully at Old Jefferson Community Care Center on Monday, May 2, 2016. She was born on June 10, 1919 in Baton Rouge where she spent more than half of her life. She was a resident of Addis for 30 years. Services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, 2121 N. Sherwood Forest Dr., Baton Rouge. Visiting begins at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Father Jack Nutter, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum, 9595 Florida Blvd, and lunch and visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. Our mother enjoyed activities with members of her family and friends, and liked get-togethers and Bingo. She was an avid LSU fan, and followed the teams and the players and enjoyed listening to or watching the games with family or friends. She is survived by her four children, Joseph E. Civello and his wife Billie, Joyce C. LaCour and her husband Harold, John W. Collier and his wife Carmen, and Charles A. Collier and wife Reba. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Donna Civello Jeansonne, David Civello, Ritchie Collier, Anthony W. Collier and Joseph Collier; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lena was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph Civello, John J. Collier and Alvin Dias; her parents, Vito and Mary Stablier Roppolo; and five brothers and four sisters. Pallbearers are David Civello, Ritchie Collier, Anthony Collier, Joseph Collier, Louis Ravasio and Gerald Ravasio. Honorary pallbearer is Harold LaCour. The family would like to express our appreciation to the staffs at Southern Pines Retirement Community in Walker, Our House for Respite in Baton Rouge, St. Joseph Hospice and Penny Perkins for the love, care, respect and compassion that they gave to our Mom.
