Leo Anthony Carlino, Sr. passed away on January 4, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness of pneumonia. He was born in Scotlandville, LA on September 21, 1935, and was a life-long resident of Baton Rouge. He is survived by two sons, Randall James Carlino and Jeff Samuel Carlino; two daughters, Karen Alicia Carlino and Christine Elaine Carlino; daughter-in-law, Laurie Carlino-Doughty her husband Kenny; grandchildren, Dr. Louren Theresa Carlino, Jennifer Christine Landry, Lindsay Ann Carlino, and Jason Anthony Carlino his wife Brittani; and great grandchildren, Jacob Michael Landry, Sawyer Anthony Carlino, and Crew Vincent Carlino.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lois Lovett Carlino; son, Leo Anthony Carlino, Jr.; his parents, Samuel J. Carlino and Carrie Mauro Carlino; three brothers, V.J., Jimmy, and Sam Carlino; and four sisters, Anne Fazio, Rose Miceli, Margaret Young, and Vickie Danna.
Leo was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who devoted his life to providing for his family. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and a graduate of Redemptorist High School. He was the owner of Carlino Fine Foods and later in life worked for Calandro’s Supermarket where he retired at the age of 85.
Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home 825 Government St. Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. the visitation will continue on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 445 Marquette Avenue, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806 from 1:00 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
