""Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine I'll taste your strawberries, I'll drink your sweet wine a million tomorrows shall all pass away, Ere I forget all the joy that is mine today" (Celtic Hymn). Leo Richard Chisholm, who was fondly known as "Mr. Dick or Mr. Leo," passed away peacefully in Baton Rouge and entered eternal life on Nov, 27, 2017. He was 89 years old. He served in the US Army along with his twin brother in the 11th Airborne Division from 1946 to 1948. They attended Oklahoma University, studied and completed degrees in Geology in 1954, then re-entered the Army for 2 years as Airborne Instructors. After discharge, they both had successful careers in Geology. They were the best of friends. He is survived by his daughter, Diane Chisholm and son John Chisholm and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Chisholm, son Mark Chisholm, brother Jack Chisholm, his sister Mary Alice Bell and his parents Leo and Pauline Chisholm. He was a great father, always there to guide us. He was a kind and gentle man. All who knew him loved him. He was always saying "smile and be happy." We know that he would want all of us to feel like this right now. We have been truly blessed. He really was a true gentleman. A celebration of his life reception is being planned for the near future. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the National Alzheimer's Association.
