Levon C. Whitehead Sr.

Levon was a very loving and caring husband, father, friend, and he loved life; always available to offer wisdom and advice. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but especially enjoyed and loved his grandchildren.

He leaves behind three children, Roxie Hotard, Tammy Newsom, and Sandra Whitehead; six grandchildren, Ryan Hotard (Stephanie), Cody Hotard (Sheree), Acy Newsom (Miranda), Jesse Meyer (Aaron), Dusty Newsom (Amelia Adams), and Jophiel Whitehead; six great-grandchildren, Tori Hotard and Layla Gremillion, Sade and Nixon Meyer, and Preston and Grace Newsom; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Lois Whitehead; son Levon C. Whitehead, Jr.; parents, Thurston and Beatrice Whitehead; brother, Buddy Whitehead; sisters, Edith and Shirley.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815 on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a graveside committal service to follow. The family would like to thank Bridgeway for their love and support as well as all of his wonderful sitters.
