Linda Armshaw Lewis

Linda “Terry” Armshaw Lewis, 71, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away at home on December 9, 2020. A private visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 followed by her interment in Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Terry was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to James William Armshaw and Maxine Cronin Armshaw on July 12, 1949. The family moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1953, where Terry attended St. Aloysius Elementary School. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy High School and Louisiana State University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Terry began her professional career teaching English to junior high students in the Apalachicola school district, Florida. Upon returning to Baton Rouge, she worked as a legal assistant while resuming studies in accounting. Terry obtained Certification as a Public Accountant, worked as an associate for Lowe Co APAC and later became the Director of Taxation for Flores and Rucks, Ocean Energy and The Shaw Group, where she worked until her retirement. Outside of work, Terry was an avid fan of LSU Football and the New Orleans Saints, enjoyed the companionship of her family, as well as many hobbies. She loved painting and was especially adept with detailed pen and ink drawings. She enjoyed reading, quilting, tatting, sewing, and gardening for many years. Terry is preceded in death by her parents, James William Armshaw, Jr. and Maxine Cronin Armshaw, her spouse, Jefferson “Jeff” Lewis, her brother, Dr. James William Armshaw, III, her nephew, James William Armshaw, IV, her nieces, Margaret Miller and Mary Heider. She is survived by her sisters, Kathy Morris (Whit), Judy Miller (Lee), Barbara Drane (Becker), and her brother, Mike Armshaw (Liza), her nephews and nieces, Jamie Morris (Angela), Kris Morris, Michelle Nash (Paul), Jon Morris (Stephanie), Cathy Marcus (Hampton), Anne Miller Correro (Edward), Lee Miller, Jr. (Marianne), Becker Drane, III (Gabi), Burke Drane (Mavie), Donovan Drane (Mishka), Lauren Armshaw, Katie Armshaw and Maggie Armshaw, as well as many grand nieces and nephews. If desired, donations may be made to the charity of choice in Terry’s honor.
