

Loraine was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Memphis, TN. She passed away Monday, May 2, 2016, from End Stage Alzheimer's Disease. Loraine was a graduate of Sophie B. Newcomb College. After graduating from college, she married Lawrence John Dumestre, Jr. After Larry completed his military service, he and Loraine made their home in Baton Rouge. She was the ultimate Mom, Girl Scout leader, and a member of many clubs and civic organizations, including her favorites, The Krewe of Romney, Les Captainnes and Passe' Bon Temps. She was a docent at the Old State Capital and a member of The Woman's Clubhouse, Delta Zeta Sorority and Bocage Racquet Club. Many friends of her children often visited for "sip and chat" with Larry and Loraine. She is survived by her children, Mimi Simoneaux and husband, Rusty, Margie Duncan and Bill D'Ambrosia, Chris Dumestre, Missy Williams, and husband Happy, Madelyne Peak and husband, Lyle; grandchildren, Reygan Valenti and husband Matt, Lindsey Polozola and husband Josh, Laura-Lucia Carothers and husband Beall, Paul Anthony Hayes and wife Stacey, Ashley Kellogg and husband Matt, Grace Dumestre, Hayden Dumestre and wife Michelle, Olivia Dumestre, Katie Guyllette and husband Shane, Austin Williams, Malyne Peak and Jonathan Peak, and eight great grandchildren. Loraine is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Larry Dumestre; parents, Christian and Loraine Bottger; brother, Ralph Stevens and wife Betty; and a grandson Shane Williams. Visiting will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Saturday, May 7, 2016, from 9:00 am until religious services at 11:00 am conducted Rev. Ralph Howe. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Special thanks to the caring staff of Clarity Hospice and to Norma Reed.
