

Our beloved Lori Leigh Pierce Dunphy, age 64, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025. She was born in Baton Rouge and attended public schools through high school. She obtained a degree in Finance from LSU. After a short break, she packed two suitcases, borrowed some money from her mother, along with the Wall Street Journal, and headed for New York. She got an apartment with a friend in Spanish Harlem and then she hit the pavement. She quickly became a broker, with a stint in one of the Twin Towers. She spent just over half a decade in New York and then went into the banking industry in Houston, TX. This eventually led to her stay at the Louisiana Treasury Department, where she handled investments and other matters until her retirement. During her retirement, she traveled, gardened and spent most of her time doing activities with her son. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend who will be missed by many.
Lori is survived by her husband, James Dunphy; son, Pierce ; three sisters, Karen, Gwynne and Janice; brother, Brent and a large number of relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Katie and Charles (CB); several aunts and uncles and a dear friend, Ferbe.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 25 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Government St. from 1PM to 3PM; with a funeral service beginning at 3PM. Burial will take place at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 27 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
