Lorita Stubbs Bankston, born November 24, 1929, a native and resident of Pride, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the age of 91. Mrs. Bankston retired from Louisiana Department of Labor with 19 years of service and was a member of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church. She adored her late husband, Clyde, of 64 years and travelled the country with him during his military service early in life, until they eventually found their way back home and settled in Pride for their remaining years together. Lorita also loved genealogy, tending to her flowers and garden that she always said she wouldn't make the next year, and going on estate sale adventures with her husband Clyde, Cody, and Sheree. Lorita is survived by her two children Rodney Glynn Bankston and wife Linda, and Janet Lynn Goodman and husband Roy. She is also survived by grandchildren Laura Warren and husband James, Joshua Bankston and wife Lauren, Andria Ormsbee and husband Richard, Sheree Hotard and husband Cody, Alexis Clark and husband Joshua; great grandchildren Carter Brannon, Jacob Brannon, Destiny Bankston, Brayden Bankston, Mason Bankston, Victoria Tyler, Garrison Ormsbee, Lakota Guerrero, brother-in-law Roland Bankston and wife Twila, sister-in-law Eva Bankston and late husband Lionel, cousin Diane Bassett and husband Royce, cousin Belinda Brown, dear military friends Robert “Red” Williams and wife Margie, and special friend Danny Kimble. Lorita is preceded in death by husband of 64 years Clyde Alvin Bankston, her grandparents who raised her Jabe Stubbs and wife Tena Noble Stubbs, parents Redus Stubbs and Lucille Foster Stubbs, grandson Christopher Bankston, great grandson Daniel Brannon, siblings Doris Stubbs Dreher and husband Willie J., Oredus Stubbs, Odette Box, Daisy Ballard, brother-in-law Tommy Bankston and wife Jeanette, cousin Cathy “Rabbit” Core, who was more of a sister, special friends Wilfred and Mary Lou Forbes and Alonzo “Lon” and Margie Sandifer. She will be missed by her family who love her and her homemade biscuits and gravy. Visitation will be held at Sandy Creek Baptist Church on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with services and interment directly to follow at Sandy Creek Cemetery.
