
A resident of Central and a native of Melville, he died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at his home. He was 59 and a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 11 a.m. until service at 11:30 a.m., conducted by Dr. David Ellis. Burial in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Nancy Davis Sanders; three sons, Louis Franklin Sanders Jr., of Central, Kevin Moreau, of Krotz Springs, and John Shelton, of Central; three sisters, Lucille Shatoska and husband Robert Roberston, of Desmond, Earline Moreau and husband Jessie, and Eva Sanders Ashley, all of Melville; two brothers, Donald "Donnie" Sanders and wife Vanessa, and Earl Sanders, all of Melville; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Young Sanders and Florence Catherine Neely; daughter, Crystal Sanders Shelton; four brothers, Bill Bourgeois, Harry Sanders Perrault, Sam Sanders and Gordon Sanders; and sister, Eloise Lee. Pallbearers will be Dale Myers, Tony Triplett, Chad McGee, Scottie Mullen, Steven Fontenot and Michael McGee. He was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 488 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
