A native and resident of Baton Rouge and a retired salesman for Case Equipment Co. in West Palm Beach, Fla., he died at his home Thursday, April 9, 2009. He was 57 and a 1969 graduate of Istrouma High School. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, April 13, from 9 a.m. until memorial service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. C. Milford Walters. He is survived by a daughter, Megan Louise Burkhalter; a son, Dallas William Burkhalter; three sisters, Carolyn Trahan, Sharon Cobb and Audrey Broussard; a brother, Lynwood Burkhalter; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dallas O. Burkhalter Sr.; mother, Hazel David Burkhalter; and a brother, Dallas O. Burkhalter Jr. He was an amazing father, brother and uncle who always put his family first.
