A retired Kansas City Railroad employee with 47"° years of service, he died at 9:10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center at the age of 80. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Lena Gomez Westmoreland; son, Lenny A. Westmoreland and his wife, Bridgett; sister, Yvonne Clayton; brother, Mickey Westmoreland; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey A. Westmoreland; mother, Myrtle Burgess; and brothers, Alton and Cecil Westmoreland. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by Deacon Esnard Gremillion. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
