Lucille “Billie” Duke Spikes Naquin was born in Raleigh, North Carolina to Virginia and William Spikes on January 11, 1934. She departed this life peacefully on June 14, 2022 at the age 88. Billie was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She never met a stranger and loved deeply. She loved ALL with unconditional love.
She served the Baton Rouge area in various civic clubs, as president of the National Association of Insurance Women, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and most recently with the GSU/Entergy Sideliners Club.
Billie is survived by and will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Ginger (Howard ) DeLaune, and Jean (Charles) Scott ; son, James Naquin; as well as her 14 grandchildren, Derek, Dustin, Michael, Jerimee, and Misty Naquin, Anthony (Judy) and Aimee Breaux, Katie (Bobby) Doiron, Brandon (Dana) and Allen (Breanne) Scott, Hayley (Raymond) Badeaux, Jessica Sholmire, Mechell (Chad) Richard, and Chas Perkins III; and her 19 great grandchildren that loved their “Maw-Maw” Billie. She is survived by sister, Katie (Leslie) Speights; sister-in-law, Angela Naquin; and dear brother in-law Gail Richardson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Virginia (Cedric) O’Neal, William A Spikes ; husband, Charles M Naquin, Sr. ; sons, Charles, Jr. and Randy Naquin ; son-in-law David Breaux ; sisters Jean Sundlie and Joan Rish ; sister-in law and angel guider, Patsy Richardson.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
All of those she loved and touched deeply, please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Green Oaks Funeral and Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, La. 70815. Visitation will be held in the Chapel from 12:00-2:00 PM prior to service at 2:00 conducted by Father Al Davidson. A memorial mass will be held at a later date in her memory. Interment to be held in Greenoaks Memorial Park with a reception following. Her dream was to never leave anyone homeless in the world. “Mom, you have been a great inspiration to others you shared your life so willingly with others, the joy you brought us will never end and one day we will be together again! Though we miss you we know you are with Jesus and those who have gone on before. Thank you for being a great Mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and a great friend to many. Mom fly high!!
