Lucille Rash

Lucille Rash departed this life on December 1, 2016 at her residence with her family nearby. A lovely spirit, a caring heart, and a warm smile all came to an end. Lucille was the youngest of seven children born to Walter Rash, Sr. and Lucille Smith Rash on December 12, 1938 in Baton Rouge, LA. She was 77 years old. Lucille was a 1961 graduate of Captiol Senior High School and a 1964 graduate of Southern University A&M College. Majoring in business education and management. Lucille moved to Fresno, CA in 1970 and was employed with Fresno City College as an Instructor/Professor in the Business Education Department. While there, Lucille’s name was added to the wall of honors in the African American Museum for her outstanding and dedicated work with the Black History Programs. Lucille retired in 2003 and in 2006 she returned home due to health issues. Lucille leaves to cherish her memories: a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special and devoted niece/caregiver: Carolyn Rash-Brown, a great-niece/living in caregiver: Holly Igidi. Brenda Rash-Igidi, Mildred Marchand, and Wanda Williams. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Rash, Sr. and Lucille Rash; three brothers, Walter, Valco, and James Rash; three sisters, Ruth, Ruby Rash, and Mable Rash Thomas. In addition too, Earline Jackson and Viola Brown. Visitation will be held at Saint Mary Baptist Church, 1252 North Acadian Thruway East Baton Rouge, LA 70802, on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 8 a.m. until Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
