She graduated from Baton Rouge High School and retired from East Baton Rouge Parish School Board in 1990, where she worked as a school bus driver for 25 years. She loved to fish, and enjoyed many trips to Grand Isle, and spending time at their camp on False River, where her family will forever cherish the memories created there. She is survived by her sister, Cora DeMaria; two daughters, Paulette Serio Hargroder and husband Rodney W. Hargroder, and JoAnn Serio Hollier and husband Gary P. Hollier; two sons, Jerome D.
