

Lucy was raised on the family farm until she graduated from Doyle High School in Livingston Parish. She then moved to Baton Rouge and went to work at Piccadilly Cafeteria on 3rd street. She and her husband, Clyde Bellows operated the State Capital Cafeteria. She passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was 92. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, August 23, 2012 for 10am until service time at 2pm conducted by Rev. Hawley Wolfe. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be John Long, Wayne Kent, Willie Veals, Don and Andy Holden and Wade Angel. Lucy is survived by three daughters Barbara R. Long, Judy A. Lanoux, and Ellen K. Bellows, two grandchildren Martha L. Kent and husband Wayne, John R. Long and wife Natalie and Lindsey Lanoux, two great-grandchildren Morgan R. Kent and Jordan C. Kent, two nephews Don and Andy Holden. She was preceded in death by her parents James C. and Amey E. Holden, her husbands Clyde Bellows and Wendell Blake, three brothers Julius, Otis and Wallace Holden, two sisters Eunice Guitreau and Amey Benton. She was a Charter member of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, a caring and loving friend. Her daughter Ellen was her primary caregiver along with faithful friends Shirley Jarrell and Willie Veals. The family wishes to thank all the Staff at BRG for their care, and longtime physician Dr. Douglas Say. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Broadmoor Presbyterian Church. Lucy was an avid LSU fan.
