
A retired teacher and social worker, she died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at the Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Wing. She was born in Sunset on Nov. 28, 1931, and was a resident of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Oct. 7, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd., on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Jerome Frey, celebrant. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard C. Korn; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Charles Pesson; two sons, Richard M. and Michael Korn; two sisters, Lou Wilda Andrus and Lilbun Leonhard; eight brothers, Royden, Carlys, Winfred, Frederich, Irwin, Darrell, Dennis and Paul Sibille; and five grandchildren, Chris Mestayer, Kara and Kelly Pesson, Anna Endres and Savannah Korn. Preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Mestayer-Endres; parents, Pauline Lavergne and Leo J. Sibille; and two brothers, Gordain and Stanley Sibille. The family offers special thanks to Dr. Michael Rolfsen and Dr. Christine Smith for their compassion and effort throughout Madeleine's illness. She was member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, an avid doll collector and a graduate of Sunset High School, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and LSU. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a favorite charity.
