Maefred Weiser Curran passed away peacefully March 17 at her home in Baton Rouge, LA, at age 97. A native of New Orleans, longtime Lakeview resident, and graduate of Sacred Heart School, she was the daughter of May Flanagan and J.C. "Jack" Weiser. She was married to the late Cedric Audley Curran, her beloved husband of 48 years. She is survived by her children Richard (Genevieve) Curran, Gary (Roselyn) Curran, Pamela Flow, Connie Curran, and Maureen (Tonas) Kalil, 17 grandchildren, and 16 great and 3 great-great grandchildren. After raising their family in New Orleans, Maefred and her husband happily relocated to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and spent many weekends at their Grandfather Mountain home. To be near family, in recent years she moved to Baton Rouge, where she was fortunate to also have the support of a loving team of caregivers. A wake will be held on Sunday, March 26, from 3 to 6 pm at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge. Visitation will be held Monday, March 27, at 9 am at St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Highland Road, Baton Rouge, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am. Interment in North Carolina.
