Marc Dale Anderson, age 68, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Livingston, Louisiana. Born on February 24, 1958, in Florence, Alabama, Marc was a devoted father, grandfather, and a man who knew the true value of a hard day's work.
Marc graduated from Smyrna High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 1976 and shortly thereafter started his lifelong career working as a heavy equipment operator, laying pipelines across the country – a trade passed down from his father.
In 1980, Marc moved to Livingston Parish, Louisiana, where he established a home and raised a family. Some of the family’s fondest memories are of the summers his children and their mother spent traveling to visit him wherever his work took him.
When he wasn't operating heavy machinery, Marc was always finding a way to work with his hands. He was most at peace when he was outdoors—whether he was working the land, tending to his garden, or spending hours in the garage fixing cars and tinkering with anything that needed repair. He had a natural ability to fix things and loved the simple rewards of a job well done.
Marc is survived by his loving children, Matthew Anderson (and his wife, Lindsay) and Mandi Anderson, and their mother, Kathy Anderson West; and his three grandchildren, Nicklous, Layla and Evrett; and his siblings, Marian Sparks and William (Bill) Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Madeline Anderson and Reuben Dale Anderson.
Services to honor and celebrate Marc’s life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Green Oaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Friends & Family Visitation: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM
Marc's life was a testament to the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the impact of living genuinely. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
