He is survived by his parents, Gentri Sr. and Elizabeth Williams of Baton Rouge, LA; fiancée, Jasmine Holmes of New Orleans, LA; brother and sister-in-law, Gentri and Kayti Williams Jr. of New Orleans, LA; sisters, Galatea Williams (Edwin) and Marisa Demasellierre (Paul); grandmothers, Rosemary Lawless Alexander and Jeanette Williams; great aunt, Jacqueline Lawless; uncles and aunts, Preston H. Lawless (Karin); Thaddeus Alexander; Jimez Williams (Gail); Galatea Ankar (B) and Jeanel Monconduit (Darryl); and a host of close cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by grandfather Jimmie Williams of New Orleans, LA; and great-grandparents Dr. Harrison and Marjorie Dumas Lawless of Baton Rouge, LA.
Marc was born on March 26, 1987, in Baton Rouge, LA. In the last years of his life, Marc experienced an intensely transformative encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ that was evident to everyone he knew. He was due to graduate from Southern University in May 2017 with a degree in Music Business. Marc was all about family, whom he loved desperately. He had a tremendous zest for life and exuded joy wherever he went. Marc loved music and was an accomplished and national award-winning pianist. He began playing piano at the age of four and at the age of eight, began to study classical music. He was widely sought-after for his musical gifting. For the last five years, Marc passionately and faithfully served and worshipped as an organist at Jubilee Christian Center Church of Baton Rouge, LA, Pastors Johnny and Shelly Hollins. He worked for Turner Industries in Baton Rouge, LA.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Jubilee Christian Center Church, 14595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA. Pastors Johnny and Shelly Hollins will officiate. The viewing begins at 10:00 am. The burial will immediately follow the memorial service at Greenoaks Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA. The repast will be held at the church following the burial. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marc Harrison Williams’ life.
