Margaret C Fontenot

Margaret (Micki) Christine Fontenot, age 73, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on July 29, 2024. She was born in New Orleans, LA but was a long time resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Micki attended Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and was a graduate of LSU Nursing School in New Orleans. She always worked in the hospitals and nursing homes helping those she could. Micki loved gardening especially roses, bushes, and flowers. She was also very talented when it came to sewing clothes and you could always find her at her favorite beaches during her summer travels. Micki also loved participating in handyman projects with her husband. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Micki is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Winston Fontenot, Sons; Jonathan David Fontenot of Dallas, TX, Jacob Joseph Fontenot of Baton Rouge, LA, Joshua Nathaniel Fontenot of Baton Rouge, LA Sisters, Victoria (Vicki) Love of Landenberg, PA, Peggy Chaplain of North Richland, TX, and Linda Chaplain of New Orleans, LA, as well as brothers, David Chaplain of Leesburg, VA, and Craig Chaplain of Covington, LA.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick Chaplain and Frederick (Rick) Chaplain.

Relatives and Friends are invited for a visitation for Margaret on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70806. A Mass of Christian burial will occur Friday, August 2, 2024 beginning at 2:00 PM, 445 Marquette Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70806. A graveside service will occur Friday, August 2, 2024 at 3:30 PM located at Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North St, Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
