
"We are confident, and prefer to be absent from the body and present with the Lord." II Corinthians 5:8. Margie Dean West Norton, known as "MawMaw," was born Dec. 27, 1931. She went to be with her Lord Jesus on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Margie was a native of Galvez and resident of the city of Central. Survived by her husband of 63 years, Henry C. Norton; daughters, Renee Amaireh, and Lisa Hailey and husband Johnny Hailey Jr., all of Central; six granddaughters, Danielle Ruiz, Erica Lee and husband Brett, Cristina Khemmanyvong and husband Borikhane, Jennifer Bickham and husband Thomas, Jessica Lee and husband Jared, and Madison Hailey; great-grandchildren, Lily and Lexi Khemmanyvong and Leyton and Audrey Bickham. Also survived by her siblings, Harvey West and wife Mary Lou, Mattie Cook and husband Abner, Susie Arceneaux and husband Patrick, Rever Vidrine and husband Curtis, Emerson West and wife Annette, Allen West and wife Betty, and Linda Krause and husband John; sister-in-law, Winnie Mae West; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father, John R. West; mother, Mary Leontine Lambert West; and brother, John West Jr. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Monday, Nov. 22, was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at Faithful United Methodist Church, St. Amant, Tuesday from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Lewis Morris and her brother-in-law, the Rev. John Krause. Burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Borikhane Khemmanyvong, Brett Lee, Jared Lee, Thomas Bickham, Troy West, Craig Arceneaux, Richard West and David Norton.
