Marie Manisco Cappo Guarino

Marie Guarino ran Manisco Grocery Store from 1954-1965. She retired with the state after 23 years service, working with the state Insurance Rating Commission and the Louisiana Department of Commerce as a personnel officer. She graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1943. Marie died at her home in Prairieville on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at 8:30 a.m. She was 84. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m., celebrated by the Rev. Eric V. Gyan. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband, Augustine "Gus" Guarino; daughter, Grace Diane "Muche" Spruill and husband George, of Prairieville; son, Russell Wayne "Rusty" Cappo and wife Jill Tschirn Cappo, of Prairieville; son, David Charles Cappo and wife Laurel Fisk Cappo, of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Kelly Diane Spruill Kleinpeter and husband Troy, of Prairieville, Lori Reagan Spruill Broussard and husband Brent, of Bourg, Quentin David Cappo and wife Lauren Lusco Cappo, of Baton Rouge; great-grandchildren, Taylor Alise and Chandler Clay Kleinpeter, Hannah Grace and Noah Michael Broussard; stepdaughter, Karen Guarino Blunt and husband Royden, of Prairieville; stepgrandchildren, Marcelle Fisk, Aaron Fisk, Sean Braswell, Stephanie Breeden and Jason Lillie; and sister, Lucy M. DiVincenti. Preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Dorothy Carona Manisco; first husband, Russell Charles Cappo; sister, Virginia Manisco DiVincenti; and grandson, Clay Russell Cappo.
