She is also survived by her five granddaughters: Laura and Emily Joffrion, Allyson Hope Joffrion Farri (Pablo), Cassandra Jardine, and Leah Paras Crenshaw (Taylor); and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Fields Joffrion of Baton Rouge; her parents, Thomas Charles and Alta Gath Grace of Baton Rouge; her brother, Thomas Grace, Jr. of Baton Rouge; and by her sister, “Sis” MacGowan of Oxford, MS. Beebe went to school at Miss Minter Martinez, St. Joseph Academy, both in Baton Rouge, and then for six years at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, LA, where she graduated from that high school in 1944. She went to LSU and graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. She went to Baton Rouge Business School and graduated in 1950. She then went to work with the Louisiana Insurance Rating Commission. On August 11, 1951, Beebe married Lt. Wilbur Fields Joffrion, Army, at Sacred Heart Church in Baton Rouge. She and Will were stationed at Fort Knox, KY, Tulane University in New Orleans where Will obtained a Master’s Degree while on active duty, and the US Military Academy at West Point, NY where her husband was an instructor. After Will was assigned to Korea, he returned and went into the Army Reserve. Beebe and will lived in Baton Rouge, LA. Beebe was active in social clubs as well as volunteer work while married and raising their four children. Among those groups were Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Organization (president in 1962), Junior League, Questors Book Club, Colonial Dance Club, Tuesday Talkers Lunch Club, “Pink Lady” hospital docent work, and she was a former member of the Baton Rouge Country Club and the Bocage Racquet Club. Beebe was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church since 1956. Her strong faith and experience of going to school at the Sacred Heart Academy in Grand Coteau helped shape her life. Her children and grandchildren loved to hear Beebe talk and tell stories as she was an entertaining story teller and a true Southern Lady. Family, friends and neighbors were drawn into her charm. A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Beebe will be missed and always loved. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials or donations if desired be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70808 or to the Academy of the Sacred Heart, 1821 Academy Rd, Grand Coteau, LA 70541.
