Marie “Mary” Vitrano Caruso, native of Independence and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the age of 88. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Mary is survived by her sons, Michael, Gary, Dennis, Keith, and Ricky Caruso; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and sister, Catherine Eells. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Leo Joseph Caruso and granddaughter, Melissa Ann Caruso. Visitation will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 beginning at 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
