

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Marie “Tiny” Bourg Tullier left this world to be with the Lord on Friday, February 9, 2018. She died peacefully at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA, Marie was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy, Class of 1946. She was a homemaker and mother, raising five children. The center of her life was her love for God and her family. Throughout her children's school years, she was a dedicated volunteer at Our Lady of Mercy School. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady Mercy Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Bereavement Committee, and Prayer Line. In 1976 Marie and her husband, Charles, were presented with the Sertoma Service to Mankind award. The couple also ran the church’s Sunday morning nursery for many years. After her own children were grown, she delighted in taking care of other little ones as a teacher at Ingleside Mother’s Day Out, where she worked for 20 years. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved them all very much. She treasured every holiday family gathering and visit. Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Charles E. Tullier, Sr.; sons, Charles Tullier, Jr. and wife, Julie, and Patrick Tullier and wife, Renee; daughters, Theresa Tullier Reis and husband, Louis, Catherine Tullier Fauntleroy and husband, Donald, and Angela Tullier Haydel and husband, Carl; ten grandchildren, Michael Tullier and wife, Julie, Brian Tullier and wife, Sarah, Devin and Philip Tullier, Louis Reis, IV and wife, Elise, Jonathan Reis, Christina Fauntleroy Martin and husband, Ryan, Melissa and Ashley Fauntleroy, and Amelia Haydel; four great-grandchildren, Sophia and Iris Reis, Matthew Tullier and his soon to be born sister, and Aeris LeBlanc; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence L. Bourg and Luce Crochet Bourg. The youngest of five children, she is also preceded in death by her siblings, Lawrence J. Bourg and wife, Leola Tullier Bourg, Denis A. Bourg and wife, Cleona “Toni” Weber Bourg, Sister Dolores (Neila) Bourg C.I.C, Sister Dorothy Bourg C.I.C., and Sister Claudia (Agnes) Bourg C.I.C. (Sisters of the Immaculate Conception); and great-granddaughter Ivana Martin.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Monday, February 12, 2018, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM. Visitation will resume at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, from 1:00PM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00PM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Louis Reis, IV, Ryan Martin, Michael Tullier, Brian Tullier, Devin Tullier, and Philip Tullier. The Tullier family also thanks their family and church friends for their prayers and for all the help received through the recent years for our loving Mother.
