A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Isadore Catholic Church for Marilyn Dunlap Baquet, 78 who passed away peacefully at her home on April 25, 2014. Visitation will be observed on Monday, April 28, 2014, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and continue on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Isadore Catholic Church. After Mass, interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Marilyn was born on July 8, 1935, in Baton Rouge, daughter of Lester Dunlap and Cleona Webre Dunlap. She graduated from Baton Rouge High School and Charity Hospital School of Nursing. Her life was dedicated to the care of her family. She enjoyed an active life of traveling with the family, playing bridge, tennis, and bowling with her friends, helping others, and reading. She was a devote Catholic, involved in bereavement programs, adoration, physical education and charitable church activities. She was a silver medalist of the Senior Olympics as a female tri-athlete, and excelled in other senior activities. She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. George Baquet, her son, Gregory, her son, Marshall and his wife Joli, her daughter, Georgette and her husband Glynn Fontenot, and her son, Jason and his wife, Brenda. She has nine grandchildren, Eliza Baquet, Marli and Noah Baquet, Brian, Ross, Mary Lynn, and Brandon Fontenot, Addison and Brylee Bacquet. She is also survived by sisters, Cleona Parisi, Leslie Nickels and husband John, Lillian Dunlap, and a brother, Lester and his wife Monica. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Cleona Dunlap, and a sister, Dr. Kathleen Dunlap.
