Marilyn (Mc Neil) de Latour SFO, a native of New Orleans and resident of Baton Rouge since 1968, born Feb 6, 1925 and died at St. Clare Manor on Nov 26, 2014 at 89. She was a poet, a member of the Secular Franciscan Order, Catholic Daughters of American St. Francis Court #1915, Southern Poetry Association, Louisiana State Poetry Society, the National Federation of State Poetry Societies, a distinguished member of The International Society of Poets, Encore and the Chaplain of the Retired Officers Association of Greater Baton Rouge Auxiliary and was a member of the Gold Star Wives of America and the Confraternity of the Pius Union of St. Joseph. She is a member of The American Academy of the Sacred Arts in Philadelphia, PA. In New Orleans, she attended St. Leo the Great Elementary School, John McDonogh High School and Sophie Newcomb College of Tulane University. Visiting will be from 9 to 10 am, Saturday, Nov 29 with a service at 10 am at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Louis, Jr. & Charlotte de Latour, a daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia & Paul Vaught Jr., six grandchildren, Michelle (de Latour) Odom, Margaret (Vaught) Newman, Susan (Vaught) Stockstill, Paul Vaught, III, Christina (Vaught) Dupont, Jason Thorning and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband - Lt. Colonel Louis A. de Latour, US Army Corps of Engineers Retired, father - Andrew Thomas Kennedy Mc Neil, mother – Lucille (Guenin) Mc Neil and siblings – Ronald Mc Neil, Lois (Mc Neil) Freund, and Kathleen (Mc Neil) Derry, and grandson – Louis A. de Latour, III.
