Marion James Denova, native of Maringouin, LA and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on June 25, 2022 at the age of 86. Marion was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the owner of Istrouma Mattress Factory in Baton Rouge for over 35 years. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed taking his grandchildren for walks around the neighborhood and taking cruises.
Marion is survived by his wife of 27 years, Martha Hayes Denova; daughters, Bonnie Burch (Terri) and Marianne Gulino (Keith); son, Jim Denova (Stephanie); stepdaughters, Nanette Normand (Claude), Lorraine Normand Mayeux, and Christine Normand Hutchinson (Tim); three granddaughters; four grandsons; eight step grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; three great grandsons; four step great-grandchildren; brother, Simon Denova (Linda); and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nunzio and Edna Comeaux Denova; brother, Sam Denova; and his sisters, Dorothy Gagliano and Mary Denova.
Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 12 noon until time of service at 2 pm conducted by Pastor Dedrick Minor. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Andrew, Jacob and Isaac Denova, Sal Denova, Nick Gagliano, Glenn David, Joe Longuepee and Kamron Mayeux. Honorary pallbearer will be Dwight Kensey.
