"A retired Legal Secretary and resident of Baton Rouge, Marjorie passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. She was 95 and a native of Brewton, AL. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Roselawn Memorial Park Mausoleum conducted by Rev. Ken Carroll. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Sims and husband Kenneth; son, Jeff Cowart and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Caitlin Cowart, Courtney Rabalais and husband Matt, and Christa Pierce and husband Thomas "T.J."; and a great-grandson, Levi Pierce. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Redding Cowart; parents, Walter Cook and Belle Knighton Cook; and two sisters, Clyde and Chrysteen. Marjorie was a longtime member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church and Lamplighters Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Broadmoor United Methodist Church.
