
Marjorie "Margie" Reames Robbins, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at age 86. She was a retired school bus driver for the East Baton Rouge Parish school system with 22 years of service. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis Olexy and Ed Olexy Jr. and Joan Bueto and James Bueto; four grandchildren, Jennifer Olexy Davis, Brandi Bueto, Malinda Olexy and Merrin Bueto Wright; five great-grandchildren, Abbie and Haley Davis, Christian Bueto, Nathan James and Ashley Wright; and her best friend for 80 years, Mary Elizabeth Worsham. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Robbins. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at Sherwood Baptist Church, 1180 S. Flannery Road, Wednesday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 10 a.m., officiated by Dr. David Womack and the Rev. T.W. Terrell. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Mrs. Robbins became a Christian at an early age and served the Lord faithfully all the years of her life. She taught Sunday school and YWA's at Fairfields and Lanier Baptist churches. She had been a faithful member of Sherwood Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Robbins, along with her late husband, were members of the Denham Springs Campers Club and traveled all over the United States. Margie also had the opportunity to visit the Holy Land. She was a longtime member of the Denham Springs Old Friends Club. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the CICU Unit at the Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for the care given to Mrs. Robbins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Sherwood Baptist Church.
