Mark W. Baker, age 60, is now triumphant over his battle with dementia when the Lord took him home on December 19, 2023. Mark was a resident of Denham Springs. He was a participant in the Special Olympics for 55 years. Track, swimming, weightlifting, and bowling are just a few of the ways he competed. Metals of Gold, Silver and Bronze adorned his room. A joyous celebration is happening in heaven as he was greeted with open arms by his parents, William “Bill” Sr and Dee Baker. Also preceded in death was a brother, Jerry Baker, sister, Marjorie Baker Beard, niece, Terri Baker, and nephews, Jamie Baker, Michael Arbour and Little Michael Arbour. He leaves behind brothers, Darrel (Vickie) Baker, Gerald “Pete” (Vicki) Baker, William “Billy” Baker Jr and Greg Baker, along with his sisters, Mary Baker and Alice Mitchell. Also, he leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Having Mark as a brother and uncle has shown us what unconditional love truly means. At this time the family would like to thank Pinnacle Hospice for all their help, support and loving care which they gave Mark these past few months. A visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East on Thursday, December 21, 6-8 pm. Visitation will resume on December 22 at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church at 10 am until Mass at 11. Burial will follow at Azalea Rest Cemetery.
