

Marsha Soule’ Baker, 56 died at her home on December 12, 2009, with her family by her side. A loving and wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Marsha was born July 9, 1953 in Baton Rouge. She graduated from Broadmoor High School and continued her education at LSU. Throughout her life, Marsha took advantage of every opportunity to help her family and friends, doing so with the utmost sincerity, energy, and enthusiasm. Never one to be content sitting still, she stayed busy with home and garden projects, taking care of her family, traveling, playing tennis and golf, and attending her “study club” with friends. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and volunteered her time to visit and pray with the ill through the church ministry up until one month before her death. She worked as a legal secretary for more than 30 years and then returned to school to become a licensed court reporter. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Richard Baker, son Rhett Baker, daughter and son-in-law Brooke and Rene’ Celis, father Joseph Soule’, sister and brother-in-law Trisha and Jim Webb, brother and sister-in-law Joe and Sandra Soule’, brother-in-law Scott Baker, and brother and sister-in-law Barry and Janette Baker. Her family and friends will truly miss her. She is preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Soule’ and mother and father-in-law, Virginia and O.J. Baker. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, on Tuesday, December 15 from 5:00 until 9:00 pm. Visiting resumes on Wednesday, December 16 at 9:00 am at St. Jude Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road, Baton Rouge, followed by a 10:00 am service conducted by Fr. Trey Nelson.
