Marvin Lee McConnell “Red” “Mack” passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the age of 94. He was a native of Jackson, LA, and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. After 30 years of service, Marvin retired from the Baton Rouge Fire Department as a Captain. He also served in the US Navy for four years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, traveling, and camping. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. Marvin is survived by his children, Debbie Bogan (Kim), Pat McConnell, Greg McConnell, Doug McConnell, and Gwen Pipps; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family members. Marvin is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Genevieve; parents, JD and Edna McConnell; and siblings. A Celebration of Life will be at the Greenoaks Celebration of Life Center (building to the East of the funeral home), 9607 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 9am to 11:30, with prayers and shared memories until 12pm.
