

A homemaker and native of Dallas Texas, she died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at age 86. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, from 10:30 a.m. until service at noon. Interment in Farmers Branch Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and John Ganci, of Plano, Texas, and Janet and David Daniel, of Baton Rouge; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Barbara Butts, Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Mary Rose Daniel, New York, John and Arleen Daniel, Silver Spring, Md., Lindsey and Scott Hoffeins, Austin, Kristin and Mike Fligg, Honolulu, and Marshall Butts, Austin; and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Hubert S. Butts, and her parents, A. C. and Virgie Good Reeves. She graduated from Ardmore High School and North Texas State College, and worked at the Shepard Air Force Base hospital during the war. She married Hubert Butts on April 5, 1947, and moved to Baton Rouge when he joined the faculty at LSU in 1953. She was a longtime member of the LSU Campus Club, the Womans Club, and Chapter AC of PEO. Pallbearers will be John Daniel, Judge Louis Daniel, Jeff Albright, M. D. Socolofsky, Brad Townsend, and Cliff Townsend. The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Geraldine Duhart and Grace Johnson, and the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet ICU.
