
God reclaimed one of His true angels on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at 11 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was born in Bunkie on Dec. 28, 1929, and was a resident of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, Feb. 6, was from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral service in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd., is on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. Visitation in Ory Parish Hall at the church Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Service will be conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews. Graveside service at Roselawn Cemetery. Mary Ellen is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Deborah A. Campbell and Clint and Shan Campbell; six grandchildren, William Womack Campbell, Caroline Campbell Cole, David Alexander Campbell, Matthew Shane Campbell, Shannon Simpson Pool, Capt. Jacob Shane Simpson, JAG, USAF; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hurley Levy Campbell; parents, Joseph Linus Hebert Sr. and Mattie Vivian Tanner Hebert; and brother, Joseph Linus Hebert Jr. Pallbearers will be William Womack Campbell, David Alexander Campbell, Matthew Shane Campbell, Aaron Wyatt Pool, Dudley Cole and Joseph Oscar Christiana Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Linus Hebert Jr. and Raymond "Bay" Brady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Methodist Children's Home, Ruston, or to a charity of choice. Mary Ellen was a beautiful, caring mom, grandmother and mother-in-law who will be truly missed by family and friends.
