Mary B. Chaix, born in Louisville, MS., a former resident of New Orleans and resident of Baton Rouge since 1954, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015 in her home at the age of 91. She was a longtime member of the Broadmoor Baptist Church. She served the community with her art skills and love for God.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde Alexander Blackwood and Mary Nolen Blackwood; husband Nolan Chaix and sister Mildred Hebert.
Those left to cherish her memories are her sister, Maxine Hinton; her brother William Blackwood; three nieces, Charlene Russell, Lorna Folse and Morna Radesky along with numerous great nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Visitation will begin at 8:30am with funeral services at 10am. Burial will be at 2:30pm in Lake Lawn Memorial Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.
