A native and resident of Baton Rouge, she died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, at age 84. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Saturday, Jan. 5, from 10 a.m. until religious service in the chapel at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Milford Walters. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery. She is survived by a sister, Nellie Edwin Core; nieces, Diane Diamond Carter, Susan Core and Tiffany Cutrer; nephews, James A. Diamond III and C.R. "Johnny" Diamond; eight great-nieces and great-nephews and 10 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence Core; and brothers, William B., Frank D. and James R. "Pete" Core. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
