

Mary Lou was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on May 13, 1940, to Mary Rosabelle Bartlett Levy and Jesse Harold Levy. She graduated from Loyola University School of Pharmacy in 1962 and dedicated 45 years to serving as a hospital pharmacist, most recently at Women’s Hospital Baton Rouge.
Mary Lou was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Baton Rouge and an active, enthusiastic member of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU), faithfully serving her church and community. She was also a devoted member of the Knit Wits knitting group in Baton Rouge and a long time avid participant in the Spectrum Silver Sneakers exercise class in Baton Rouge.
Mary Lou is survived by her brothers, Jesse Harold Levy, Tom Lesley Levy (Pat), and Michael Stephen Levy (Marianne); her children, Patrick David Daniel (Karyn), Melissa Levy Daniel, Timothy Dale Daniel, Jeffrey Dale Daniel (Beckie); and her beloved grandchildren, Eleanor James (Aaron), Grace Frishcosy (Christopher), and Leah Webb (Seth). She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Bartlett Levy (Janice).
Mary Lou embodied cheerfulness and she had a spark that turned all her conversations towards glorifying God. She will be remembered for her courageous faith, selfless generosity, and her unbridled lovingkindness she so graciously extended to everyone she interacted with.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church Baton Rouge on July 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held afterward in Greenoaks Memorial Park, and lunch to follow. The family invites all who knew and loved Mary Lou to attend and share their memories.
